Tour Plan

  • Day 1: Islamabad ➝ Chilas
    Travel via Babusar Pass (seasonal) or KKH, stopping for views along the Indus River. Overnight in Chilas.
  • Day 2: Chilas ➝ Gilgit
    Drive north along the Karakoram Highway, stopping at the Nanga Parbat viewpoint and reaching Gilgit by evening.
  • Day 3: Rest Day in Gilgit
    Recover from road travel, explore the Gilgit Bazaar, or visit Kargah Buddha and surrounding valleys.
  • Day 4: Gilgit ➝ Naltar Valley ➝ Naltar Lake Camp
    Drive deep into Naltar Valley, famous for its forests and alpine lakes. Camp beside Naltar Lake for your first night in nature.
  • Day 5: Naltar Lake ➝ Lower Shani
    Begin trekking with an ascent through meadows and forest trails to reach Lower Shani Camp.
  • Day 6: Lower Shani ➝ Pakora High Camp
    Continue uphill to Pakora High Camp, nestled in a rugged bowl surrounded by glacial ridgelines.
  • Day 7: Cross Naltar Pass ➝ Jut/Uts
    Trek across the mighty Naltar Pass (4,600m) — the highest point of the route — and descend to Jut/Uts Camp in the Ishkoman region.
  • Day 8: Jut/Uts ➝ Pakora Village
    Descend into Pakora, a serene Wakhi-speaking village deep in Ishkoman Valley. Cultural interactions and rest.
  • Day 9: Pakora ➝ Asumbar Village
    Trek through meadows and riverside paths to Asumbar, a picturesque village on the western edge of the trek.
  • Day 10: Asumbar ➝ Lower Charinj
    Cross pastures and pine trails to reach Lower Charinj, a traditional shepherding area.
  • Day 11: Lower Charinj ➝ Upper Borta Bort
    Climb into higher terrain toward Upper Borta Bort, surrounded by glaciers and vast green plateaus.
  • Day 12: Upper Borta Bort ➝ Mayur Camp
    A day of ridgeline trekking and descent into Mayur, with views of Yazghil Glacier and Karakoram massifs.
  • Day 13: Mayur ➝ Dal Sandhi (Yasin Valley)
    Reach the Dal Sandhi settlement in the Yasin region, marking your full crossing from Naltar to Ishkoman/Yasin.
  • Day 14: Dal Sandhi ➝ Darkot Village
    Trek through valleys and rivers to Darkot, a charming end-point village with access to Gilgit by road.
  • Day 15: Darkot ➝ Boimoshani
    Optional scenic trail to Boimoshani, a summer settlement nestled between pastures and alpine cliffs.
  • Day 16: Boimoshani ➝ Galtir Meadows
    Trek to Galtir, home to summer herders and peaceful open skies. Final camping night in the wild.
  • Day 17: Galtir ➝ Handis ➝ Drive to Gilgit
    Trek to Handis, ending the trail. Drive back to Gilgit for hot showers, beds, and celebration.
  • Day 18: Gilgit ➝ Naran / Besham ➝ Islamabad
    Drive south through Babusar Pass or KKH, ending your 18-day cross-valley adventure in Islamabad.
